The Photography of
Legendary Rock Photographer Neil Zlozower

Long Island Picture Frame & Art Gallery is proud to carry one of Rock & Rolls legendary photographers Neil Zlozower. Neil Zlozower was born and raised in Los Angeles. He first picked up the camera at age 14, when he ventured into a pawn shop and bought a Honeywell Pentax H3v with no light meter and later purchased a Vivitar 135 mm telephoto lens That was a big mistake because at his very first concert he photographed, the Rolling Stones at the Forum in November 1969, the focusing ring stripped – which meant he had to step forward and backward to focus the lens! In the next few years, Zloz was shooting some of the biggest rock bands in the world, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Jethro Tull, Rod Stewart and the Faces, Deep Purple, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Ten Years After, Etc. etc.  One of his favorite shots was in  San Diego in 1972 of Mick Jagger with a terrorized look on his face when Zloz was on tour with the band at only 18 years old! With disco in full swing, Neil sought-out real rock & roll, trying to find bands before they were known. After hearing Van Halen playing “Running with the Devil” and Edward Van Halen playing guitar on “Eruption”on the radio, he found the fresh new rock & roll he was looking for. Zloz and the band worked together for many years documenting their rise to become one of the biggest American rock bands ever. His work with other bands includes Motley Crue, Ted Nugent, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Motörhead, Tom Waits, Bon Jovi, Slipknot, Guns N Roses, Ratt, Poison, and many others.  If you look at any rock magazine from the past 40 years, you are guaranteed  to see a photo credit by Neil Zlozower. To see Neil's work stop in
Long Island Picture Frame & Art Gallery of Oyster Bay.

Carrera CollectionThe Carrera Collection
The Carrera Collection

Carrera is one of those rare collections that is so visually striking, it commands attention among the other moulding samples on the frame shop wall. The dramatic contrast of tones in the bands of the rendered veneer grain, elevated by the high luster gloss finish, create a gorgeous play of light and color that are exhibited brilliantly by the graceful curves of the profile. Fashionable and chic, the Carrera Collection is designed to captivate the interest of interior designers and picture framers, as well as to fill a new demand toward high-gloss picture frame options.

Lucia CollectionLucia Collection
The Lucia Collection

Long Island Picture Frame presents Lucia, a beautiful new line of 4 new mouldings with classic finishes and a new design based on a time-honored profile. With this fresh take on a traditional design; it is consistent with the enduring trend towards new up-to-date twists on furniture-finished mouldings with classical elements and clean lines. The Lucia Collection is tailor-made to captivate the interest of picture framers and designers who seek to meet this continuing demand of classic picture frame mouldings with new design perspectives.

Rob Shanahan is one of the world’s most published photographers in the music industry today. His photos have appeared in numerous ad campaigns, CD/DVD covers, books, and magazines around the globe. He is Ringo Starr’s personal photographer and has been working closely with him since 2005, photographing and designing his tour books, DVD’s, and records “Y-Not” and “Ringo 2012”. The 2012 All Starr tour was his 5th tour with Ringo. He also photographed all appearances of Ringo and Paul McCartney for Cirque dul Soliel/The Beatles LOVE show in Las Vegas.

Rob has also been Chief Photographer for Yamaha Music Corporation since 2003 and has photographed hundreds of Yamaha endorsed artists. His photographs for Yamaha have appeared in advertising campaigns worldwide and in Yamaha’s “All Access” publications. “Volume 1”, his first published collection of music photographs, was released in December of 2011. The Art of Mort Kunstler

Mort Kunstler the premier historical artist in America - and now he focuses mainly on the American Civil War. When Mort Künstler began his current emphasis on Civil War art in the early 1980s, he had already accomplished more than a half-dozen artists could hope to accomplish in a collective lifetime. From portraits of prehistoric American life to the odyssey of the space shuttle, Mort Künstler had painted America's story - and was already renowned as "the premier historical artist in America." When he placed his focus on Civil War art, Mr. Künstler quickly established himself as the country's most-collected Civil War artist, and earned unprecedented acclaim within the genre of Civil War art. "Mort Künstler is the foremost Civil War artist of our time -- if not of all time," says Dr. James I. Robertson Jr., the dean of Civil War historians and the author of the celebrated biography, Stonewall Jackson. "To study his paintings," says Robertson, "is to simply see history alive." Pulitzer Prize-winning historian James McPherson concurs. "Of all the artists working in the Civil War field," he observes, "none captures the human element, the aura of leadership, the sense of being there and sharing in the drama, quite like Mort Künstler. He has that enviable talent of being able to re-create history on canvas and to translate events into art." Visit Our Oyster Bay Location to view more of Mort Kunstler's Work.
