Mort Künstler Pencil Signing Blood Hunt For Five Assassins
Mort Künstler Pencil Signing Blood Hunt For Five Assassins
For the first time, Mort Künstler has released his illustrations from his Men’s Adventure artwork as limited edition fine art prints.

Beginning in the 1950s, Künstler’s illustrations were sought after by art directors of the leading magazines. The demand for his illustrations grew, even when most magazines started replacing art with photographs. Künstler’s captivating and sometimes provocative images adorned the covers of Stag, For Men Only, True Adventures, Male and True Action magazines. Magazine Management, the publisher of these magazines, asked Künstler to use pseudonyms because he was doing so much work for them. Two of the pseudonyms he used were Martin Kay and Emmett Kaye – a play on his initials “MK”. These illustrations have become emblematic of the pop culture of that era.

The Men’s Adventure Suite of limited edition prints are the smallest edition Mort Künstler has ever released – limited to only 95, with 10 Artist Proofs.

The Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts opened a major retrospective exhibit of Künstler’s art in November 2014, including many of his Men’s Adventure art. The exhibit, titled Mort Künstler: The Art of Adventure, will have over 80 pieces from early childhood through his most recent works. This exhibit will travel throughout the country.

Starting in the 1970s, Künstler painted American historical subjects, for which he is most well known – especially the Civil War and the American Revolution. Probably no other artist in our nation’s history has recorded so many events in American history and certainly no one has painted them with the extraordinary authenticity and drama as Mort Künstler.
Mort Künstler is America’s artist.
