Dodgers vs. New York Giants
"The Shot Heard Round the World"

On October 3rd 1951 the Polo
Grounds New York became the battlefield for two New York teams, The Brooklyn
Dodgers and The New York Giants. Two teams battling for the pennant.
The Giants had entered the
bottom of the ninth down 4-1. Before Thomson came to bat with one out,
the Giants had scored a run to make it 4-2 and had runners at second and
third. Dodger’s manager Charlie Dressen brought in Ralph Branca
to face Thomson. After taking the first pitch for a strike, Thomson pulled
back, took a big cut and connected on the next delivery, a fastball that
was high and inside.
The ball was smashed down the
left field line just above the 315-foot sign and landed five rows deep
in the stands. Thomson's home run gave the Giants a 5-4 victory over their
biggest rival and a trip to the World Series.
Relive one of baseball’s
greatest moments in this limited edition photograph of only 51 signed

“Dem Bums”. Custom double matted with a 2” European
cherry wood, custom double matted with black and white and a decorative
v-groove to enhance the piece. Three description plaques are also custom
matted into the display that read:
Bobby
Thomson
"'We beat 'em, we beat 'em,' I kept saying to myself as I loped around
the bases. I felt like I was floating, like my feet weren't touching the
ground."
Ralph
Branca
"That walk across the field was the longest I've ever taken. I could
hear the fans roaring, and I knew the Giants were going crazy. I wished
there was a hole in the ground that could have swallowed me up."
